Here's a fun class we're going to have this month. Making Melt n Pour soap is pretty easy to do. You just need to decide on the additives, scents and molds. The fun part for me is dressing up the soaps. Here I used scrapbook paper, raffia, Tim Holtz embellishments (the key), embossed metal, and Jolee's dimensional stickers (the fleur de lis). With the holidays approaching and budgets tight, this could be a great solution to gift giving. You can use scrapbook paper to match the decor of your friends and embellish with things you probably already have in your collection of craft supplies.Susan Richardsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10919211007221194059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2217854436510797293.post-20091312727833440392010-09-23T12:38:00.002-07:002010-09-23T12:51:19.654-07:00Halloween Craft

Here's a quick and easy Halloween craft to make. I began with a dollar store white candle. (After I bought this I found a pack of 5 various sized candles for $9.99 at Ikea!). I added Sunset Orange and Metallic Copper Alcohol Ink using the Ranger applicator to change the color of the candle. For the metal, I ran pieces of black Ten Seconds Studio metal through the Cuttlebug using 4 different embossing folders. Then I sanded the metal and punched out a bat using a EK Success paper punch. I glued the bats to the candle using Beacon 3 in 1 glue....and that's it! The whole project took less than 10 minutes.Susan Richardsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10919211007221194059noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2217854436510797293.post-9068689223623152412010-09-14T11:39:00.006-07:002010-09-14T12:44:23.431-07:00Eskimo Kisses Card Making<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 115px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_tk9e0sbGbx4/TI_DExy9HxI/AAAAAAAAAFk/fqa_XZdWmUo/s320/11and12.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516842555406098194" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 182px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_tk9e0sbGbx4/TI_CkRFA8YI/AAAAAAAAAFc/mfKjIc8-HJg/s320/9and10.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516841996867662210" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 186px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_tk9e0sbGbx4/TI_CkJhAdJI/AAAAAAAAAFU/S2GDFY7UFtY/s320/7and8.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516841994837587090" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 182px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tk9e0sbGbx4/TI_Cje3eepI/AAAAAAAAAFM/iaN3oaeTthE/s320/5and6.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516841983389104786" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 189px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_tk9e0sbGbx4/TI_Ci8IuKLI/AAAAAAAAAFE/Glh1nmKeP2o/s320/3and4.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516841974066194610" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 125px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_tk9e0sbGbx4/TI_CiMcV_zI/AAAAAAAAAE8/dwZ-xlCHXIc/s320/1and2.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516841961263595314" />
I realized I never did post all of the Eskimo Kisses cards we made in class! I love bright colors and these colors were right up my alley! It's time to be thinking about Halloween decor and gifts so I thought this would be a good store sample. The background paper is We R Memory Keepers new line called Black Out, the stamps are from Inkadinkado and all the little goblins and words are from the new Pinecone Press collection Hocus and Pocus. This paper made great embellishments! And as usual I embellished with buttons (Basic Grey), Stickles and some 3-D dots. I inked the edges in black and used some Bazzill black dotted swiss for photo borders.Susan Richardsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10919211007221194059noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2217854436510797293.post-15164244785415567642010-08-30T10:50:00.004-07:002010-08-30T11:01:07.040-07:00Maya Road Tins<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tk9e0sbGbx4/THvxfo2R6ZI/AAAAAAAAAD8/d4Vj1rUNsQk/s320/Cards+tin.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511264094861257106" />
I love the Maya Road tins! There are several sizes and I like them all. The one featured here is the largest one, called Lunch Break. And they'r so affordable. Retail price is $4.99! I decided to make this one a card storage tin for all the handmade cards I'm accumulating. The beauty of the tins is you can change them to fit your needs. On this one, I wanted a bright color on the tin so I just used Citrus alcohol ink, the alcohol ink applicator...and presto, instant chartreuse tin! I also added some buttons from Basic Grey, the Petaloo paper flowers (with Stickles, of course!), Grungeboard letters (I added red ink) and the paper is from Pinecone Press.Susan Richardsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10919211007221194059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2217854436510797293.post-82746633181025465042010-07-20T18:16:00.005-07:002010-07-20T18:26:35.686-07:007Gypsies Letterblock Printers Tray<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 263px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tk9e0sbGbx4/TEZMwkMyNKI/AAAAAAAAADI/TYwuRKRXwxE/s320/Letterblock+Tray+France.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5496164792486999202" />
I finally had some time to make the store sample of these wonderful trays.
